Hmn.. reccomendations. *blinks* The lines are actually rather good. His face, gloves and cloak are nice. The details on the scythe're nice too- they're simple, but they look good. What needs work is the coloring. This looks like colored pencil to me... You should try sharpie markers some time. use that for the base of anything solid, and you can use the colored pencils on top for detailing, toning and all.
